FAQ OF CAY
"Who are you?
-That, my friend is an excellent question. I am Cayley Marie Ashe, lead guitarist for 'Clouds on Fire'. Call me Cay. And who are you?
"Do you play any other instruments"
-Yeah, I play piano.
"What got you into music?"
-You know those street performers? The ones who play for money? Well, when I was about six, I saw one. He was playing Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. His guitar was well-loved, and it looked like a piece of crap to most, including me. But the way he played it...he put everything he had into that song. And the next. And the next. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. I had my parents stand with me for thirty minutes at least, just listening to him. The next day, I started begging for guitar lessons, and after that, piano.
"Where are you from?"
-A little suburb in San Deigo. My mom's a high school history teacher, my dad's a expert on all things American Civil War. He's written a few books on it, actually. I swear, I grew up watching 'Gettysburg' between various Disney musicals and Sesame Street.
"What was your favorite subject in school?"
-A tie between history (shocker, right) and English. Except for when I had to read 'A Tale of Two Cities'. God, I hate Charles Dickens.
"Twilight or Harry Potter?"
-HARRY POTTER. I loathe Twilight with a holy passion. However, Harry Potter is fantastically amazing.
"Vampires or Werewolves?"
-Hobbits.
"Pokemon or Digimon?"
-So you hear I like mudkips? In other words, Pokemon.
"Star Wras or Star Trek?"
-Star Wars Episode IV-VI and Knights of the Old Republic I & II.
"Jedi or Sith?"
-Darth Vader>Anikin, but Obi-Wan Kenobi>ALL. So Jedi. Actually, I take that back. Mandolorians.
"...You are a HUGE nerd, aren't you?"
-I prefer the term 'intellectual badass'.

Dei sighed. Homework, check. Studying, check. Obscene amounts of doodles added to her shoes, check. Sunday evenings sucked. She had nothing to do. Her homework had been finished the night before. She just finished studying for her exams. And she was fairly certain that there was no way that her shoes could have any more doodles on them. She was...bored. And she didn't like boredom very much, like most people. Even the the common room was bustling with activity, she wasn't amused by any of it. She was chronically bored. She needed conversation. Or something like it. Maybe she just needed fresh air. It could simply be that she needed to get out of the common room for a while, away from the chaos.
Stepping out of the common room, Dei shivered at the chill in the wind, pulling her hoodie closer to her body. She wasn't a huge fan of the cold, thus the hoodie. Actually, she hated being cold with a passion. The only time she even sort of tolerated it was when she was playing Quidditch. Funny how pretty much everything came back to that particular sport. And flying. Things tended to come back to that, too. She ran a hand through her hair , looking down the hall. On one side, a couple making out. The rational part of her mind thought it was disgusting. Hell, even the other part of it though it was disgusting, but it reminded her of when she had been that girl sucking face with her boyfriend in the hallways. She turned her mind away from those thoughts that would only depress her. That had long been on the list of things that she wouldn't think about. Along with her upcoming exams and graduation from Hogwarts, all of which she which she had successfully kept from plaguing her thoughts.
Dei was one of those people who tried to avoid her problems. If there was someone she didn't want to talk to, she'd go out of her way to avoid them. Eventually the person in question would corner her and force her to talk to them, but that could take days or weeks. She was pretty good at the art of avoidance. Part of her knew that she should just deal with it, that she was being ridiculous. But the more overpowering part really didn't want to. That part really just wanted to sit in a corner and avoid everything bad. It was the part that blocked out painful memories. Such as that messy incident in fifth year.
At the other end of the hallway sat a boy. A boy that Dei knew well. A boy who she counted as a friend. A grin broke out on her face. Yes! A distraction in the shape of a Lysander! He looked bored, sitting against the wall. Lysander had been her friend through the 'incident', as she now reffered to it in her mind. She wasn't entirely sure if he knew what was going on with her at that time, her being so depressed and quiet, so unlike her normal happy, funny self. She wasn't sure if he now knew what had caused that drastic change, but he had been there, and she would forever be grateful for that. Lysander was much quieter than she was, and more serious. But, as they say, opposites attract. They were pretty good friends. He was one of the many she hadn't talked to in a while, which she felt bad about. Silly Quidditch, taking up all her time and/or energy.
Dei walked over to him until she was standing in front of him. "Hello, favorite Lysander! Mind if I join you," she asked, still grinning. It was ridiculous how thankful she was for the distraction of talking to him. It gave her an excuse to not go back into the Swirling Vortex of Chaos that was the Ravenclaw common room anyway.
